Dave Grohl is a popular rock musician, singer and songwriter well known for his Grammy Award winning band the Foo Fighters. He is also quite famous for having been the drummer in the iconic grunge band Nirvana. He has also worked on some level with other bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Probot, and most recently the Crooked Vultures. But one thing most fans probably don’t know about Grohl is his life long fear of ghosts.

It all started when he was a kid watching his very first horror movie. It was Halloween and he had just come in from trick or treating with friends. He lay down on his mom’s bed and began to watch ‘The Exorcist’. The classic movie about demonic possession left him horrified. To this day the movie still gives him the creeps. And the mere mention of ghosts or demons has always made him uncomfortable. His biggest fear of all is having a ghost follow him; something he has had nightmares about since childhood.

Well one day Grohl’s fears came true. It was back in the early 1990’s when he was living in Seattle. He was living with his girlfriend, and soon to be first wife, famed photographer Jennifer Youngblood. The two would often hear strange noises in the house like footsteps and banging. Neither could explain it but they often would get the feeling of being watched, especially when walking up and down the stairs. Even some of their friends would catch glimpses of what they thought was the ghost of a woman while visiting the house. The whole ordeal gave Grohl the chills. But somehow his girlfriend convinced him to try and contact the spirit with her by using a ‘Ouija Board’. As the two sat in the dark, Youngblood asked “Is there a spirit in this house?” The glass indicator slowly spelled out Y-E-S. The amazing part was neither of them was holding it. Somehow it was moving on its own. Youngblood then asked “What happened here?” The glass moved again slowly spelling out M-U-R-D-E-R-E-D. “Who?” she asked next and the response was M-Y-B-A-B-Y.

After doing a little research the two discovered that a Native American baby was supposedly murdered and dumped in a well on their property sometime in the 19th century. The baby’s mother apparently continues to haunt the area waiting for a proper burial for her child. A couple of years later Grohl found himself moving out of the house and away from Seattle after dealing with the haunting reality of a divorce from his wife Youngblood and the suicidal death of his lead singer Kurt Cobain.
