For each of the past three years, RISEUP Paranormal has played host to a large and passionate segment of the public interested in paranormal research inside some of Rhode Island's most notably haunted and historically significant locations. In 2009 it was the daunting challenge of Fort Adams in Newport. A return to Newport in 2010 marked one of the most well-received and ambitious undertakings in recent memory as we welcomed the public into the legendary Belcourt Castle. In 2011, we traveled to Torrington, Connecticut to investigate the majestic Warner Theater and beginning in June, we brought the public into at a different type of venue with an event that harkens back to the Colonial era: an investigation of Coventry, R.I.'s Paine House Museum. We have compiled a series of short documentaries of the public investigations we would like to share. In them, we have recorded audio and video of the experiences both we and our guests have experienced on these events. RISEUP acknowledges that the evidence put forth has not necessarily met the criteria we maintain for the validation of data, but it is our hope that it presents our guests and all who are interested an inside glimpse at what the events are all about.
The three founding members of RISEUP- Ken, Dave and Head of Research Chris Blanchette- are the newest members of the Tiverton Historical Society. As long-time residents of the town and with the historical nature of RISEUP's research, it seems a perfect match. Ironically enough, the home of the THS is actually the Chase-Cory House (below), the scene of a number of RISEUP's investigations. We look forward to bringing a different perspective to the group and participating in - as well as conducting - some of their sponsored events in 2011.
