Belcourt Castle is a magnificent mansion located along Bellevue Avenue in the heart of Newport. For over 50 years, the house has not only served as a private residence but also a museum, housing the Tinney Family Collection of rare artifacts collected from around the world. Belcourt has been both a historical and cultural fixture in the city for over 100 years.

EVIDENCE FROM BELCOURT (3/4/2010)- ON THIS INVESTIGATION, THE RISEUP TEAM FOUND NO SOLID EVIDENCE SUGGESTING ANYTHING ANOMALOUS OR UNUSUAL DURING THEIR SESSION IN THE GRAND BALLROOM. UNLIKE OUR FIRST TRIP THERE, NO LOUD KNOCKS OR BANGS WERE HEARD DURING OUR STAY. HOWEVER, WE DID LEAVE CAMERAS AND RECORDERS RUNNING OVERNIGHT. THE FOLLOWING SOUNDS WERE RECORDED WHEN THE MANSION WAS EMPTY AND WE HAD LEFT FOR THE NIGHT. CAMERAS TRAINED ON DOORS CAUGHT NO MOVEMENT OR HUMAN PRESENCE ENTERING OR LEAVING AND WE CANNOT DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO HEAR.

EVIDENCE FROM BELCOURT (4/3/10) - IN OUR INITIAL PUBLIC INVESTIGATION, THIS SOUND WAS RECORDED BY WENDY ALSFELD THATCHER ALONG WITH HER FRIEND NANCY IN THE MANSION'S KITCHEN. INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT EARLIER IN THE EVENING - BEFORE WE BEGAN - A STACK OF PANS ON A SHELF HIGH ABOVE ANYONE'S REACH INSIDE THE KITCHEN CRASHED DOWN ONTO THE FLOOR. THE CARETAKER MENTIONED THOSE PANS HAD BEEN THERE FOR YEARS AND THERE WAS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THEY WOULD SIMPLY FALL, WHICH WE AGREED WITH AFTER LOOKING EVERYTHING OVER. MORE CURIOUS IS THAT AFTER PICKING THEM ALL UP AND NEATLY RE-STACKING THEM, WE FOUND ONE AN HOUR LATER ON THE FLOOR IN AN ADJOINING KITCHEN AREA.    _

EVIDENCE FROM BELCOURT (4/24/10) - THIS INTRIGUING PIECE OF AUDIO WAS RECORDED BY ANN COLLETTE FROM CONNECTICUT IN THE WEST BEDROOM. WE FEEL THIS MAY BE AN ENTITY POSSIBLY MISTAKING THEIR INSTRUMENTS FOR SOMETHING MORE SINISTER.

Clip 1:   AN ADMONITION FROM A FORMER RESIDENT  "TAKE THE WEAPONS OFF"

THE NEXT CLIP WAS RECORDED BY SUSAN AND DAVID ULMSCHNEIDER IN THE ORHCESTRA LOFT IN THE GRAND BALLROOM. THEY HAD JUST ENTERED THE AREA WHEN THEY CAUGHT WHAT APPEARS TO BE A WOMAN'S SHREIKS. THIS SOUND WAS HEARD BY THEM QUITE FAINTLY AT THAT TIME AS IT WAS BY RISEUP INVESTIGATORS IN THE SAME AREA DURING OUR FIRST PRIVATE INVESTIGATION THERE IN FEBRUARY 2010. INTERESTINGLY, ANOTHER GROUP POSITIONED DOWN BELOW IN THE BALLROOM RECORDED THIS SAME SOUND ON THEIR DEVICE AT THE SAME TIME.

    Sprague Mansion has long been considered to be one of the most haunted locations in Rhode Island. The Sprague Family was one of the wealthiest and most prominent in the states history. The majority of their money was made in the cotton industry and they were also very involved in various political arenas around the state. Sprague Mansion now serves as the home of the Cranston Historical Society

EVIDENCE FROM SPRAGUE MANSION- While having an unrelated conversation, two female RISEUP investigators captured what sounds to us like the voice of a young child - seemingly female - calling for their mother.

   These Electronic Voice Phenomena were recorded inside Fort Adams in September of 2009 during a series of private investigations. Both were captured inside the same room on separate investigations. Ironically enough, both were captured in the presence of a pair of female RISEUP Investigators who had gone so far as to revisit the room after getting results the first time.

      Responding to reports of paranormal activity from the owner and employees of a small business in town, we have conducted multiple investigations centered around unusual phenomena in the basement. These investigations have seemed to corroborate their claims as we have experienced and captured varied and interesting pieces of evidence while there.

EVIDENCE FROM NATURES-This remarkable EVP of what seems to be a woman acknowledging her ability to alter the atmosphere caught us quite by surprise and gave us all a good laugh.

       We are allowed to admit to the public that this particular Historic Mansion is located in Newport, RI. The following recordings were all captured in one particular wing of the mansion. This is compelling enough (from a paranormal perspective) although what makes it even more interesting is that it is a hidden wing of the house, the use of which is still quite mysterious to both RISEUP and the stewards of the property.

EVIDENCE FROM HISTORIC MANSION: The first clip is of a moan, Heard audibly by investigators in the hidden wing and later verified on both video and audio microphones, we believe this to be Class A EVP of an anguished (or angry) shout.

EVIDENCE FROM FOLLOW-UP: This clip was caught during a follow-up investigation of the location. The voice asking the question is Ken's. We feel the acoustical characteristics and the pace at which the response comes after the question warrants us to feel this is at least a Class B Response and possibly even a mimic.

       This piece was captured during an on-going investigation of the Fort Barton Revolutionary War site in Tiverton, R.I. It was taken inside of a trenched earthworks area that would served to shield American Soldiers should the British have attempted to make there way from the East Bay into the Sakonet River. This may have even happened were it not for those brave Colonists that fought for American Independence during the Battle of Rhode Island and all throughout the Revolution.

EVIDENCE FROM FT. BARTON- two male investigators are present and are the only ones speaking. you will clearly hear the sound of a female voice between theirs. We post this only after no doubt remains about its legitimacy as a class a EVP.

This voice phenomenon was captured under well controlled conditions on an Olympus Digital Audio Recorder. It occurred at exactly noon on 2/2/08 at the location in Tiverton, RI. The bells you hear in the background are from a church located less than 100 ft. from the building.

EVIDENCE FROM T.C.C.- No one except the two investigators is inside the building. they are two rooms away and the voices were not heard at the time they were recorded. The recorder is stationed on a ceramic sink in a locked Men's room. All  windows are shut. please note that No females are present.

EVIDENCE-This voice phenomenon was captured during an investigation of a residence in Tiverton, RI on 4/4/08. It occurred on the Sony Digital Recorder in the basement of that residence. The recorder was stationed on the cement floor. It occurs at an Extremely Low Frequency (ELF).

EVIDENCE- On an OUTING with our Massachusetts AGS affiliate caiprs, we visited a number of notoriously haunted cemeteries on Cape Cod. As we were outdoors, we'd assumed our audio would be fairly contaminated. It was. However, after much debate, we decided we could not simply dismiss this sound. It does not match the shapes/frequencies of anything else on the recorder and it may be in response to a question. The recorder was stationary on a tombstone with an investigator standing no more than a foot away from it. He did not hear the sound at the time he asked this question.

EVIDENCE FROM B&B: While investigating a B&B with great historical significance and ties to the Revolutionary War, this voice was caught upstairs in the attic of the building. On the surface, it seems to be a response to a query, but while it displays vocal characteristics and pace, we cannot come to a consensus as to what the words are that are spoken. Hence, this falls into the "B" classification.

EVIDENCE FROM B&B FOLLOW-UP: In the basement of this same inn, two investigators continually hear a voice or voices responding to their line of questioning. Only on this clip can we hear exactly what they were experiencing. Immediately after one of them says "....right here in front of me...", you quickly, but clearly hear an anomalous voice. Instantly, the second investigator remarks, "I just heard a voice!"
