What happens when I contact RISEUP?

  • Our investigation process begins when you CONTACT US via e-mail or by phone. We will respond to your e-mail or call within 12 hours or less.

  • Please provide us with some basic information: your name, the type of activity that is taking place, and a way to contact you. (If you feel uneasy providing an address or more sensitive details  at this early point in time, you may simply choose to ask questions and talk about your situation with an investigator until you are comfortable enough to do so. )

  • Bear in mind your address is important not only as a destination point but because the sooner we get this information the sooner we can begin to research the location of the activity. History and geography are vital to researching potential hauntings.

  • At a time that's convenient for you, we will further discuss the situation (by phone, e-mail, or in person). This is not an invasive process. This is a simple conversation to decide what course of action is in your best interest. We will discuss the nature of the activity, who is being affected and the severity of the situation. For longer travel distances (beyond 70 miles), we may discuss a small contribution toward our fuel expenses. If we can not reach your location, we pledge to put you in contact with someone reputable in your area who can help you. We will however, remain in contact with that individual or group to monitor the situation and assure your best interests are being served.

  • If both parties agree an investigation is warranted, we will set up a date and time to meet at your home or property. We are a small group and will bring an appropriate number of investigators to a location dependent on the size of the property and the comfort level of the homeowners. Please rest assured, we are competent and trustworthy people. Upon request, we will provide a number of personal references including founders of other paranormal groups, historical societies, town administrators, law enforcement officials, and homeowners who've had us on their properties for investigations.

  • We will also negotiate the time we will leave your property. Because we primarily work at night, we feel it is in the best interest of the client to establish a cutoff time for the investigation. On the other hand, if the activity usually occurs during the day it might be best to investigate under the same conditions. Bear in mind, the more time we are allowed to investigate, the better our chances are of capturing some activity or reaching a reasonable explanation.

  • We will conduct a formal interview on-site. We will only ask questions that pertain to the investigation. Any questions of a more personal level we may ask are relevant to paranormal activity and conducting a proper investigation. Our goal is not to judge, but to help you identify the source of your experience.

  • While we need to maintain a specific level of control in the investigation (to authenticate evidence) we would never force someone to feel uncomfortable in their own home. Those looking to observe the investigation may be allowed to do so as long as they respect our methods and participate accordingly. It's your home. We consider ourselves guests on your property.

  • At the designated time, we will pack up our equipment and end the investigation. Before we leave the property we will establish a time and day in which to share our results. Based on the duration of our stay we may have anywhere from a day to a week's worth of surveillance to review.

  • Once the next meeting between group and client is set we will meet either at the property or another agreeable location. At this time we will produce whatever evidence we've captured (if any), offer a number of possible alternate (non-paranormal) explanations for activity, and decide if further investigation is necessary.

  • Note that nearly 80% of all claims can be explained as normal occurrences, but in those rare instances where genuine activity has been documented, we may offer a number of suggested methods for coping with a particular situation. This may vary depending on the nature and severity of the activity.

  • Depending on the comfort level and beliefs of the client, we are in contact with people who can provide a blessing/cleansing of the home. This is a faith-based matter and not part of the RISEUP investigative procedure, but RISEUP shall maintain its presence throughout the process.
